This is the worst paying job I've ever had. The caseloads are extremely high. They often hovered around 350 ACTIVE clients per coach and about 600-800 inactive clients (some of which became active when they needed help).
The culture emphasized a toxic happiness. You weren't allowed to be anything other than that.
Brain washing strategies and tactics were constantly employed.
Employees are encouraged to fill out glassdoor and other job surveys. This is why you see a slew of good ratings after a negative review. In several meetings the higher ups read the negative reviews in front of everyone and told us that these reviews impact our company (your job). This is why you see a bunch of five star reviews from people that have only been working there a few months.
If you bring up issues in a meeting they immediately tell you that the grass isn't greener and that if you can't agree they will be happy to help you leave. For that last reason, I waited several months after leaving the company before leaving my review. I had started to believe I couldn't do better than NOOM because its what they all brainwashed us to believe. When I finally left I walked into a similar job elsewhere and immediately was given a 30% raise, plus a benefits package that puts NOOM to shame. Plus, a better worklife balance and an environment where my thoughts and opinions are taken seriously. They are all liars. I hope more current employees realize their worth. You can do better. The health coaching field is expanding rapidly. Almost EVERYBODY now pays significantly more than NOOM.
Make a legitimate difference in people's lives, great teams to work with, many opportunities to be creative and yourself at work. Solid PTO. WFH obviously. Will pay for your NBHWC exam.
Cons
The coaching department is a tiny, tiny piece of Noom. They will make you think you are important and valued, but the reality is, this is a whole company with the main priority of making money. The coaching department receives little to no communication, updates, or ability to move departments. They do mass layoffs that terminate amazing talent that could benefit the company in other ways. So many of us would love a chance to move to UX/UI, B2B, curriculum writing, etc, but that is not an option. If you want to be a coach as a career, please go to a legitimate coaching company and not a tech start up just testing the waters of profitability. The pay is pretty low, too.
