I worked at Nordstrom full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to nice clothes and people watching.

    Cons

No training, whatsoever. Catty, gossipy co-workers. Competitive co-workers. Returns affect your paycheck. Hours all over the map. Huge pressure to sell Nordstrom cards. Long hours on your feet with no breaks.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with some maturity, not size 2 20 somethings impressed with themselves.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you are in the footwear department you get 10% commission. Which is the best department to work for. As long as you meet your goals you have nothing to worrt about.

    Cons

Like any job, you have to play politics. Upper management aren't sociable and are not very helpful.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Leave your personal issues at the door. Making friends with your co-workers will not get you promoted. Keep your eye on the prize.
