I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

Pros

You have the ability to make as much as you want. Everything is commission based, and during seasonal peaks paychecks can be HUGE. Typically managers are flexible and there is tons of room for internal promotion within the company.

Cons

If you do not make your sales goals, you can get fired. There is not really a ton of job security if you are not willing to work for it. During seasonal peaks, expect to work long hours.

Advice to Management

Reach out to employees more. They may not always be willing to discuss their gripes about their manager with you.

I worked at Nordstrom part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A great company to work for with plenty of room to move forward if you plan on staying with the company for a long time.

    Cons

Because your salary is commission based, the environment can become very competitive and can get aggressive depending on your co-workers.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Discount 25%
get to work in fashion everyday if you like that.
Customer service experience is great, you can learn a lot here

    Cons

Return policy benefits the customer only, there returns will be taken out of your comission , even if the item is over 2 years old. Some of the employees can be very materialistic or just plain bitchy for no reason at all.

    Advice to Management

Sales goals need to be more realistic especially for smaller stores
