Pros

In addition to your hourly wage you can make commission on your sales if you meet the goals for the department you work in. You receive an employee discount on all purchases.

Cons

You need to develop personal customers if you don't want to compete with other reps in your department for sales.

Advice to Management

More company training on how to develop personal customers.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You have the ability to make as much as you want. Everything is commission based, and during seasonal peaks paychecks can be HUGE. Typically managers are flexible and there is tons of room for internal promotion within the company.

    Cons

If you do not make your sales goals, you can get fired. There is not really a ton of job security if you are not willing to work for it. During seasonal peaks, expect to work long hours.

    Advice to Management

Reach out to employees more. They may not always be willing to discuss their gripes about their manager with you.

    Pros

A great company to work for with plenty of room to move forward if you plan on staying with the company for a long time.

    Cons

Because your salary is commission based, the environment can become very competitive and can get aggressive depending on your co-workers.
