I have been working at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Interesting work. Great people. Excellent salary.

Cons

Too many unnecessary meetings. Lack of software engineering discipline in the past has led to a hodgepodge of technical solutions.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you work hard you can advance very quickly. They give everyone an equal opportunity to get promoted if your sales are high.

    Cons

Sometimes sales people can be cut throat, and if you get stepped on management doesn't really care as long as product is being sold by someone.

    Advice to Management

Every sales person is management material, and just because a sales person isn't selling great doesn't mean they aren't management material.

I worked at Nordstrom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule depending on manager
Highly recommended for those attending college
Can make a decent paycheck as long as you can sell well
Regular customers that will only ask for you to be their sales associate
Overall, if you have a good manager your work will be significantly easy going

    Cons

    Can be very competitive
    Commission only position
Ridiculous stock assignments but depends on your manager
Some departments it is difficult to sell the merchandise only because the department is not that busy (When applying choose a department that you know is always busy)
