I worked at Nordstrom Rack full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company is very open about opportunities, internal growth and promotions. The company as a whole seems to be a great place for a career or job.

    Cons

At the Rack I was employed at, I felt that sales associates were viewed as a tool to make the management staff look powerful and successful. I didn't feel valued as an employee and felt often pushed aside and disrespected. I did not feel as though this particular Rack forged in manager/ associate relationships, which is why there was a HUGE disconnect between the two.

    Advice to Management

Hire more advanced and experienced management. There should be no feeling of distance or unprofessional-ism so early on (this store is a new store as of October 2012). Create an environment that is healthy and enjoyable to be in. Associates are not numbers.
