Pros

Great group of people that support each other. Great sense of community. Great work-life balance...and great benefits (e.g. free education)!

Cons

Pay is lower than corporate. Higher Ed politics.

I worked at Northeastern University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice technology, free tuition with lots of degree choices. That;'s really the only decent reason to work there, is to get a degree of some kind. lots of vacation days

    Cons

Some individuals have been there longer than most of the buildings. Many of the buildings flood on a regular basis, and guess where the data centers are...That's right, the basements, because they wouldn't think of insulting the faculty by putting them in a moldy basement somewhere

    Advice to Management

Check your egos at the door, get to know the people who are more then one rung above or below you.
