Pros

Your opinion is listened to on a variety of issues
Attempt to get everyone on board before moving with initiatives
Work life balance is fantastic with paid days to work for charitable causes
High engagement amongst employees

Cons

Projects tend to move sloooooooow due to attempting to reach consensus
Everyone is so nice to the point where a large group of employees within the bank have not been forced to reach their full potential

Advice to Management

Sometimes you can not get consensus and you just have to lead

I worked at Northern Trust as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

this place will encourage you to drink and smoke more frequently

    Cons

far too many to list. 24/7 work environment, non existent 'work/life balance' which is a serious joke. People who started here and continue to rot here. You get promoted overnight if you're caucasian, or 'political'. Hard work isn't recognized, management doesn't back your play. Negative people who have all the time on their hands to gossip 24/7.

    Advice to Management

stop rewarding political and negative managers, and ignoring the worker bees who work hard.
