Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good work/life balance. Allows for flexible work hours. Education assistance is available with training on and off site.

Cons

Bureaucratic and slow to promote achievers. Management overall lack leadership. Currently in a declining industry for the next ten years. Projects/programs can be severely hampered by government auditors.

Advice to Management

Give more power and accountability to lower management. Discision making is too high up to be timely and effective, causing lower to middle management to become bureaucratic administrators rather than leaders.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Technically challenging work
    Good mentoring available
Good people to work with, no jerks

    Cons

Minimal career growth. Easy to get pigeonholed
Worst working environment I've seen. One large bull pen for 200+ engineers makes it very difficult to work.
Better pay in the commercial side.
Came from a different sector in Northrop to the Aerspoace sector and pay was 30% less for the same skillset.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, great salary, work with great people. I have been able to use corporate aircraft for my personal use when needed, in conjunction with other executives.

    Cons

Some of the management is a little out of touch. The vacation policy is a little out of whack, even though they are generous with vacation time, per se.
