I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work life schedule. Soon to be terminated I'm sure.

    Cons

Increase every year under Ron Sugar for 9 years. RIFT'd twice under Wes Bush. It's not good to know that he was paid $1.5M to come to the falls church area when you're getting laid off. Regular promotions of VPs and Directors. Lots of Chiefs and no Indians. Loss of Recompetes due to this practice. Legacy companies have created a silent war often promoting those from their legacy companies and sometimes resulting in an entire legacy company's staff running an entire group. Working diligently to eliminate those not from their legacy company. Couldn't order supplies for two years. Had to charge all time directly to contracts and no overhead which is basically an insult to your integrity as there are activities everyday that require you to charge to overhead. Not doing so could result in your being unemployed. No more NG for me. No loyalty to this company as after 2006 they no longer have a pension. Northrop Grumman covers about 2% of health insurance. They blamed the increase on Obamacare. It was an amazing company with great benefits. Now it's just a bunch of crabs in boiling pot. They've brainwashed staff into believing that can't do any better. "At least you have a job.". I'm passing this time.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the over educated staff who do not nothing but talk and burn dollars and bring nothing to the plate. The Government Contracting environment has changed and Northrop Grumman needs to adjust to the climate.

  2. "Professional defense minded company. Warfighter is always the number one customer."

    Pros

Strong team coehesion at every level. Caring HR individuals who will go out of their way to assist the employee.

    Cons

Always a concern when dealing with defense contracts. With today's political environment, use caution when expecting stability in employment.
