I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The company has a lot of positions to offer at any given time, once you are in the organization. They have a lot of streamlined processes as a result of being so large, which is great in the sence that you don't have to worry about figuring out many things from scratch. They are a performance based organization, which emphasis success. There is a lot of teamwork within the organization.

Cons

As A result of being so structured sometimes there is a lot of red tape to it can take a lot of effort to change a policy or procedure. Sometimes like most organizations, it is very difficult to removed non performing senior people from the organizatio, since the documentation process is so restricting.

Advice to Management

Sometimes you need to take bottoms up communications more seriously from non managers, when dealing with restructuring, because in the weeds, is where the work is performed. A lack of understanding lower level work, due to being so removed from that work can sometimes prevent the right decisions from being made.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best work-life balance. I personally never had to work unpaid overtime, and could work 40 hours a week in 4 days then take a day off with little notice. Great benefits.

    Cons

Big projects, work on system c/c++ code which is hard to find a job in the job market with just that skill set. Development environment was a nightmare because of classified networks. Company was big and you def didn't get the feel that they cared about you.

    Advice to Management

Middle management syndrome. Listen to the developers and their ideas on process. Time to move projects and pressure clients to agile.
