Doesn't Recommend
Negative Outlook
No opinion of CEO

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good benefits and pay, when a good contract was available.

Cons

Raises are small since the company is always trying to reduce its costs. Managers don't pay any attention to their employees and offer no career advancement opportunities. HR does very little to help find you a new position if your contract has been cut.

Advice to Management

Get some managers that actually do something with their subordinates. Pay attention to career objectives.

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Northrop Grumman has good benefits (health, 401K, vacation, PTO although there is no sick time) and the daily work schedule is flexible.

    Cons

Poor annual raises, if any. Cumbersome performance appraisal processes. Juvenille and cliquish managers. Poor ethical environment.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Quick program integration, leadership and management opportunities. Previous experience is acknowledged and leveraged to manage and impact several important department of defense programs within your scope of expertise. A high tech company with a good mix of experience and new (fresh) engineering personnel/ideas. Great people and good working environment.

    Cons

Vague organizational structure (at mid level) with unclear responsibilities often makes you feel that program management of projects, and processes is in chaos and that important business development opportunities are being missed/mal-managed with inefficient coordination with the customer.

    Advice to Management

Concise and well understood organizational structures with responsibilities on paper and in actual execution is critical to efficient operations, personnel job satisfaction and optimum performance.
