I worked at Northrop Grumman as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Northrop was a great place to work. The people i worked with specifically were very professional and overall it was a great work environment. Great place to work!

Cons

I would say as an intern i had very little interaction with my Manager.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

NG is very flexible with schedules. There are core hours, but as long as you cover those you can arrange your schedule to suit your life. I work early hours to avoid traffic, and I know a lot of younger employees that work late hours so they can go straight to the clubs and bars after work and still have time to sleep before coming in the next day.

    Cons

The HR department will do everything they can to under pay you when you start and once they do the only way to catch back up is to leave the company. If you are thinking of hiring in, don't believe them if they say that the pay the first year will be low, but that raises come quickly. It is simply a lie.

    Advice to Management

If you want to put an end to the insane turnover, learn to pay your employees a market wage.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Interesting work, most people are hardworking and mission-focused. Benefits are good.

    Cons

Corporate culture is lacking. Off-site employees (like me) were very disconnected from corporate and denied advancement or other opportunities. Big emphasis on profits, sometimes when it wasn't in the best interest of the USG. Most of the internal systems (payroll, talent management, etc.) are broken and nonfunctional if you are remotely located.

    Advice to Management

Need to do a better job connecting with employees who don't live near a major operations center.
