I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great benefits and overall great corporation.

Cons

Company works within several different sectors that function almost as separate companies; some sectors are much more organized than others and they do not always operate well together. It is difficult to invoke change or process improvements because everyone is out to protect themselves.

Advice to Management

Hold employees responsible for their roles and value opinions and ideas.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time

    Pros

On the space side of the business, NG retains capabilities and expertise to build in house if it chooses to do so. Company and space programs really drive problems and issues to the ground (get to root cause). Thus there is always unique and challenging issues that crosses many disciplines and it is always rewarding to see how these issue are finally resolved.
    Has 9/80 work schedule.

    Cons

Basic philosophies or business model for a space program/product and airborne program/product do not mix for the simple fact space products are not repairable or serviceable. Just don't know how NG (functional management) is planning to organize/segregate the company with respect to space and airborne/avionics.

Services within the company (IT, Benefits, Security) are being relegated to automated or web based.response systems.
