I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Worked in their Service's group providing IT Outsourcing support. NG was eager to provide their clients with support and paid the support staff very well. I really enjoyed my time on the account and was very sorry to see the contract come to a close. I loved working for NG.. they take care of their employees and provide a great sense of confidence and worth,

Cons

IT Outsourcing is not NG's strong point.... they need to stick to making military defense products

Advice to Management

If working outside the military area, bring in new management that is familiar and successfully with IT Outsourcing and ensure that senior management has full buy in of the opportunities.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits, great starting pay. The best work-life balance one could ask for - generous vacation and every other Friday off (paid). Nice people.

    Cons

Often very bureaucratic, and management cannot keep track of employees. Very hard to move vertically, and salary will never be spectacular. Great place to start a career, and then move elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Increase salary incentives for MBA graduates, pay more attention to individual employees. Stop giving plain template performance reviews and expecting everyone to mold their job description and goals around the same uniform questions.

    Pros

Large company which enabled the benefits to be nice and relatively inexpensive for the employees. Salaries were good.

    Cons

Management not very aggressive in getting the tools needed to complete the job. There was no parity across projects and Management from one project did not step in to assist other failing projects.

    Advice to Management

    Reevaluate your internal cohesiveness.
