I have been working at Northside Hospital full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Company values include quality improvement, and they seem to value the nurse's role in driving quality improvement.

Cons

Opportunities for personal growth are limited, particularly in the ambulatory infusion setting.

Advice to Management

There are many opportunities for improvement in clinical operations management at outpatient infusion centers. Staff recruitment and retention seems to be an issue, so clinic is chronically understaffed, leading to sub-optimal outcomes and patient dissatisfaction, which drives employee morale down, which reinforces the cycle.

I worked at Northside Hospital full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

High Salary, decent benefits, some great people

    Cons

Terrible management. The people in charge and supervisors have no business in their job roles. The culture is one of fear and reprimand. You can never do anything right. You are always punished, berated, and I dare say it is emotionally abusive. They cause PTSD for the same people there to treat it in the patients. The work load is unbearable and unreasonable. There is no reward for hard work and all accomplishments are quickly forgotten. The supervisors are unstable and like to cause drama. They treat the patients terribly. They will berate them, have favorites, and make highly unethical decisions. There is no understanding of the client or the therapists lives. There is a lot of gossip and everyone will stab you in the back. No job security with people constantly quitting or getting fired for no reason. They micromanage every aspect of you life. Imagine having to take 15 minutes PTO because you will be late from traffic! It's so degrading.

    Advice to Management

Get completely new management. All of the new supervisors are highly disliked and not respected. Treat people with respect and dignity. Promote within.

I have been working at Northside Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of training and educational opportunities.

    Cons

Not much support from management sometimes. Pay is on the mid-to-lower end of pay scale

    Advice to Management

Cost of lliving pay adjustment. Promote more fairly insted of using favoritism. When making changes, consider more input from employees.
