I worked at Northwestern Mutual as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You receive a first rate education in sales. Northwestern also offers a decent commission for interns, as well as reimbursement for your licensing fees. Prestigious firm within their industry.

    Cons

Sales, unless that happens to be your thing. Generally how this internship will work is you are advised to go out into the field(ie. hitting up your family and friends) for business with an older agent.

    Advice to Management

    Training is the key.

I have been working at Northwestern Mutual full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The sky is the limit if you are dedicated and work hard. I have never worked anywhere before that there wasn't any sort of cap on your earning and that your compensation is a direct reflection of how hard you work. I have been able to build my own "small business" and look forward to the next 30 years here!

    Cons

Not everyone ends up making it because they don't work smart enough.
