Pros
Pay can be great if you're willing and able to put in the hours and work to do a lot of work. Pretty standard in the cabling industry. Company provided vehicle, gas card, cell phone and basic tools (torque wrench, keys for locks, climbing belt, ladders, hard hat), and benefits are available.
Cons
Long hours, management doesn't seem to care too much about how late you're out so long as your numbers are good. Billing is deceptive in a lot of ways, your sign on bonus is subject to forfeiture if you fall below standards (almost guaranteed if you're a new tech, pretty solid chance you'll have a bad week if you're experienced), lots of verbal promises made that aren't kept, it's extremely confusing trying to understand rate codes for every single item, pay checks are never broken down clearly on what jobs you're getting paid for properly to audit your own checks. You'll miss your family tremendously very quickly, especially when you're punching 14-16 hours a day, 6 days a week, not including travel time home or to work, you get home and sleep, wake up and repeat until your one day off, where you probably sleep in late, lounge around and do nothing. I wouldn't have been able to last as long as I had without my wife being home to handle everything around the house (Laundry! dinners, packing me lunches even) but it's put a serious strain on our relationship, to the point I will lose her if I keep this job. Management comes across initially as friendly but devolves quickly to show they are just looking at you as another number, expected to meet other numbers. Extremely high turnover rate is due to straight burn out, dissatisfaction with management, and just hating the job in general.
