Pros

Superb client base, including leading clients in many categories. Some brilliant players, well-connected with the industry, and driving innovation in the field. With few exceptions, colleagues are professional and collaborative. Great new NYC office, easily accessible from almost any subway line. Little perks are nice: coffee and bagels everyday, lots of other freebies, drinks on the town, etc.

Cons

Like most agencies, intra-organizational and inter-agency politics do interfere with the quality of work and morale. Communication from upper management to the rest of the company can be lacking.

Advice to Management

Instill a greater sense of shared responsibility and culture of accountability, including greater access for more junior employees, mentoring programs, and best-practices symposia.

    Pros

The name of the OMD company as well as most of the locations. We also get the weirdest holiday's off and summer Fridays which is a very good perk that most other companies do not have.

    Cons

Some down sides of working at OMD are the hours of work. It is also a very political company and you seem to have to brown nose a lot of management to promote. Other media agencies also seem to pay their employees a lot more so a lot of employees at the assistant and planner levels tend to quit in order to make more money.

    Advice to Management

Respect and listen to the people who are doing all the work.

I worked at OMD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people and culture there is great. More than just Friday lunchtime drinks there is a wealth of talent and friendship there

    Cons

The communication isn't great. Also deals mean planning is limited.

    Advice to Management

Be a bit more open on what we are doing and why. Share the deals, even some of them.
