I worked at Odom full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good network of employees, with a great flow of communication. Has a real family feel in a larger company. Management strategy that won't allow you to fail.

Cons

Because of the nature of the celebration beverage business, there are no vacations or days off allowed on any major holiday, or between the months of October and December.

Advice to Management

Never abandon the principals that keep that personal family feel.

    Pros

A few networking and windows admin folks are very friendly.

    Cons

This company has low ethical standards. I worked as a contractor but only for 7 days. During that period, a family of mine passed away. So I asked for a day off to attend the funeral. The VP who I reported to approved it. However when I got back to work the day after the funeral, they called my consulting firm to end my contract. No reason was given, not even after more than a month later.

I completed my work on my last day and asked the BI manager to review later that afternoon. He said he would review it with me on Monday instead. I offered to email an update to everyone but he said it was not necessary. It appeared the decision had been made at that point.

    Advice to Management

If taking a day off to attend a funeral is not allowed, you should tell me so.
Please respect the contractors. They are human beings too.
