I have been working at Office Depot full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and vacation time are some of the only real benefits that the company has to offer. You also accrue sick & personal time as well.

    Cons

Horrible insurance coverage, even worse pay scale. If you compare wheat Depot pays its associates to its competitors, you can see that Depot is usually under paying their employees by at least $2-5 an hour.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees what their worth!

I have been working at Office Depot part-time

    Pros

    Hours are plentiful
Job for the most part is extremely easy
    Flexible with schedules

    Cons

Management seems to pawn off work onto employees even when they have begun something. For example, a common practice is the setting of pogs (Planograms for where they place product) and more often than not, the management will begin on it, then never finish it, only to pawn it off onto an employee who may have other things to do. (Such as putting an excess of 500 bin labels out or Retail Outs) while said employee must greet every single customer in the store.
Managers also do this as well. I have witnessed managers call out customers over the radio, say they need a greeting, and watch the customer walk right past them without one.
District Managers is spun to have this big brother complex about them ,claiming people will get fired for things that don't seem appropriate to fire for (Such as not putting stoppers behind every product so it doesnt slide)
Sales goals are insane to meet. They expect a 5% increase in profit from the same day last year. The most blantant time this was impossible is technology sales were to make 5000 dollars on Easter Sunday.

    Advice to Management

Get organized and learn that just because you are a manager, doesn't mean you can just pawn off work you began onto your employees who have a hundred other things to do.
Secondly, just because you made an X profit on this day doesn't mean you are going to make 5 percent more next year on the same day.
