Pros

I can't think of any

Cons

Unbelievable work hours. This is the place for you if you want no work/life balance. Management is a joke. It is all political and who likes who better.

I worked at OfficeMax full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people I worked with and the customers made it worth while most of the time.

    Cons

Too many pots on the stove, OfficeMax wanted to offer everything but nothing 100%, from less then perfect Control Center to cheap, horrible canvas wraps. Too many focuses and too much money spent on things other than really increasing business.

    Advice to Management

Too many managers hired and promoted before their time.

I have been working at OfficeMax full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to advance quickly if you are a star performer. Most coworkers are motivated and have a team atmosphere. Typically do not hire people right out of college. Many have a good work/life balance and lots of people have kids.

    Cons

Merger with Depot just announced so future is uncertain but most likely there will be opportunities. Lack of training when you start depending on what department you are in.

    Advice to Management

Keep taking care of your people - they are the most important asset
