I have been working at OfficeMax full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The best advancement rate and amazingly strong Leadership at store level. The company is stable and was not affected by the economy. The business model breeds a hybrid of tech knowledge and enhanced customer service.

Cons

The staff are under paid for the amount of work and knowledge the bring to the table. Each store seems to have a considerable problem staying staff due to the employees not receiving proper composition for their amazing sales and technical abilities. Management above the store level seems to have become disconnected from us (management) at store level.

Advice to Management

Fix the pay scale... I am a Sales Specialist (key carrying MOD) and make less then a cashier at Costco... This is the reason I will be departing from the company.

I have been working at OfficeMax part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun people to work with, make spiffs off of some sales, Lots of hours for part time 20-30

    Cons

Low pay for what they ask you to do, Upper management is awful, No commission just a few dollars if you sell their warranties, Expect to much to only pay 8.00$ an hour. most of the people are not the smartest managers lazy and make you basically run the store

    Advice to Management

More communication raise the pay if you expect associates to be a full sales person and basically run the store help all the customers and sell all your services train associates better on product knowledge most of mine came from me researching on my own and past knowledge
