Pros

Fun atmosphere. Managers make a significant effort to develop career path and personal development plans. Close proximity to Chicago Metro is a huge plus.

Cons

The company headquarters is in Naperville, IL, which is about 30 miles from downtown Chicago. For city dwellers, a long and frustrating commute awaits if you are not ready to settle down in the suburbs.

Advice to Management

I had no problems with management. I left to go back to school to pursue my MBA and if I could offer any advice to management, it would be to implement a more supportive tuition reimbursement program. The current program only offers to cover up to $4k per year and requires a 1 year commitment upon completion.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Good benefits, generally good store-level management. And you get to work indoors. Customers are (generally) better-behaved than at retail outlets like Wal-Mart.

    Cons

Incompetent district-level management, extremely low pay, raises are few and far between, high pressure to make sales goals. Every employee is tracked for his or her extended-warranty sales, and are pushed constantly to improve their numbers, in light of unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to Management

Don't make MaxAssurance sales the end-all and be-all of grading a store's performance. District Managers: don't be so consumed with ekeing every last ounce of profit out of every employee, and have some respect for them.
