I have been working at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The managers are all great and your coworkers are all friendly! Love the fact that we can joke around and make the workday awesome!

Cons

If your part-time the hours do kinda suck sometimes. Only work 4 or 5 hour shifts. Some managers are a little mean.

Advice to Management

Maybe you can up the hours for part-time to at least 20 hours since I only get like 15.

I worked at Old Navy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Vacation time
    Health Insurance
    Wearing jeans to work everyday
    Fun people to work with
Sign on bonus--although I think it is not common.
Constant communication--lots and lots almost too much.

    Cons

Last minute changes that make it impossible to schedule for. If in a rough area of town, they expect you to work 80 hours a week, while other stores in nice areas have same amount of staff and have easier workloads.
Can not plan for days/or weekends off, incase there is a sale. Must work all those days.
Crazy hours around Thanksgiving, Christmas. Open Easter.
Some upper management yells and screams at staff.

    Advice to Management

Plan ahead for sales, and stick to it. It is like watching chickens run around every week looking for their missing heads. Upper management should learn how to communicate to staff when unhappy in a more constructive way.

I worked at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked at the Old Navy Flagship in SF, so it was one of the largest stores. Since there are so many employees, you work in a friendly environment where you are able to get to know a lot of the employees and managers. Your work attire is very lenient (you can pretty much wear most things you would wear out on the street). On holidays/promotion days you dress up in specific attire (wore PJ pants to work once). Overall, pretty lenient work environment. Also able to give away, switch, and take shifts from other employees.

    Cons

Since you are working for such a large company, you don't really get any individual benefits. You are pretty much treated like any other employee. You also have to work during holidays and weekends.
