I have been working at Old Navy full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

The company is very into keeping things fun and working with the community.

Cons

If you have a bad management team it can kill moral. My experience with this company over the years is what makes a good store is great management and the right staff. If you are in a store that has a poor management team, upper management will leave you there. The upside is there is a pretty high turnover in managment, so if you don't like what you are getting, stick around and it will change.

Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and especially your managers. Follow policies that are in place to ensure a strong and positive work environment.

I worked at Old Navy part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Positive work culture, managers are friendly, met lots of interesting employees my own age from different backgrounds, values diversity. There's room for advancement even for part time college students, but make sure you make the effort to ask.

    Cons

HR policies can be stiff, cashiers underperforming at ONC will have reduced hours and worse shifts, sometimes I felt like I had to beg for more responsibility.

    Advice to Management

Realize that there is more to retail than opening credit cards. You're a clothing company, not a bank!

I worked at Old Navy full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benifits overall..... Great opportunity for advancement. The company really teches all its managers to run a business and the skill set that you will pick up working for GAP Inc will be very favorable for you in a retail career.

    Cons

None really, I left to explore more options and to experience a bigger box retail store.

    Advice to Management

Bring back at least two full time positions to create a better balance of workload....
