Pros

Low salary. Have to be part of the old boy network to get anywhere, most of the management are smug, arrogant douches.

Advice to Management

They don't take advice.

I worked at Oldcastle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Good health/benefits package
    - Most of the co-workers are fun, business oriented and share great ideas. They are key to the success of this company (if only upper management understood that).
    - Great products line

    Cons

    - Very little space for growth unless you move down to Atlanta, GA.
    - Very poor communication between management and its employees
    - IT team seem completely disorganized & give very poor user support.
    - Work till you get sick. Depending on your manager, there are very few time compensations.
    - Company mainly focused on RONA rather than its employees & personal objectives.
    - Far too many organisational changes. Presidents & VPs are frequently moved from one division to another causing confusion and sudden change of culture.

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to your employees and learn to trust them
    - Communicate all the memos, valuable information, IT maintenance, acquisitions, etc. in a formal & timely manner.
    - Stop making so many org & structural changes and instead focus on hiring dedicated & competent managers.

I worked at Oldcastle (Less than a year)

    Pros

when its good its good for all, things will go fine but even if you produce a profit tho , and they think it was not right location they still close it ,

    Cons

if its not good they close it down with no notice, and upper management believes its the best choice it will happen,

    Advice to Management

location location is not always best answer when you have hard workers working very hard for the company , does it really matter
