Pros

Bank time is a nice feature with their salary conditions.

Cons

no communication from management, no directives or objectives, they expect you to read minds. You have 8 different bosses and they stress managing the perceptions of your coworkers who can give conspire behind your back if you don't like you.

Advice to Management

Corporate culture starts with a tone at the top, you promised a positive, open, and team oriented work environment but instead have created a hostile dysfunctional nepotistic spy vs spy culture where everyone is potentially your worst enemy.

I worked at Olsen Thielen & Co full-time

    Pros

Flex time is definitely the best benefit of working here. All of your overtime during busy season is paid out as either additional time off the rest of the year (few restrictions) or additional pay. You are fully encouraged and expected to use all your vacation. You are treated as an adult from the start in terms of time management and are given a lot of flexibility. Besides a fairly strict 8am (at the latest) start time, how you manage the rest of your working hours is almost totally up to you as long as you put in sufficient hours and complete your work. Nobody baby sits you. Friendly office atmosphere.

    Cons

Despite flexibility in time management and statements to the contrary, perceived performance is still highly influenced by number of hours worked. Despite what seems like some good movement towards mentoring-type programs, feedback is not sufficient, especially for today's millennials. Formal training programs could be improved. Both offices could strive to be more paperless as well as streamline and standardize their processes. An individual can feel isolated from others, as it is very easy to not talk to other people during the day.

    Advice to Management

Like audit gives feedback after each client on an individual's work, tax should figure out a system for giving more consistant, verbal, and one-on-one feedback with individuals. Encourage increased, meaningful interaction between associates and higher ups. Not just another happy hour but interaction during work hours about work performance as well as small talk.

    Pros

Additional pay for overnight travel. Bank time can be used during the summer for more vacation time.

    Cons

Work during the summer is very slow. Sometimes had one use pto because there was no work
