I worked at Olympus Corporation of the Americas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Day care, soft ball court, endoscopes, building infrastructure

    Cons

If you are really thinking of career here? think twice
It was an absolute worst place I ever worked in my entire 13 years of career as software developer. Management here is horrible. The ratio of people knowing "What to Do" Vs "how to do" (aka. slaves) is 6:1. These dead-weight managers enjoys blame game. There was not a single successful project implementation in my entire tenure there (but still top management is un-aware where the money is spent). Software development was/is never there cup of tea.

The day you wake up excited to go to work or enjoy the work you do, never happened. No work/life balance. Some of the managers here are horrible dogs who shout at you to save there asses. There is nothing such as "anti-harrasement policy", or if there is one, it is ignored in it's entirety.

The only thing one should be good at, to survive, get promoted is to kiss lots of asses and praise leaders (the only required skill). Questions here are never welcomed. Despite several failed projects, cluelss managers enjoy "just do-it" practice. Software development team(MIT) here is certainly going down-hill.

    Advice to Management

Top management at OMSC (Japan) is busy in there own scams hence any advice to them is useless. Only advice to aspiring software developers who really like to learn is to stay away from this place if you could or else learn how to blow smoke up their butts.
