Pros

There are no pros at all

Cons

The turnover rate is amazingly high. People with several degrees are favored and hired but they quit after a few years to work somewhere elese. Internal promotion is very low.

    I have been working at Olympus Corporation of the Americas full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    steady work. National Service Center never lays off people. All you have to do is show up and be on time.
    First time in Olympus history that a Christmas party was held off site this year.

    Cons

    Management is scattered, direction is poor and communication is non-existent at NSC. No proactive thinking, all firefighting. All of this management team, from director to supervisors at the National Repair Center do not know what they are doing, its the deep pockets of corporate that keep it going. There is so much potential.

    Advice to Management

    Make your management do the work, or at least know how the work is done.
    A supervisor, who was recently promoted from lead stated that now that he is a supervisor he doesn't have to do anything.
    A director once said, "I am a director, I do not do-I direct". Its that attitude that carries all the way down the chain...especially when the director doesn't know what software platforms are used or how to use the software his own people use.
    They always say they want to go from good to "great" but management is the reason we are not great.
