The work can get very repetitive and upper management can be pesky. The compliance regulations are very strict and tedious.

    Small office environment

    Cons

    Where do i begin.....
    poor management
    poor salaries
no opportunity to advance b/c the company is so top-heavy
you spend an absurd amount of time engaged in collections
interest rates are way too high and is of NO value to the customers therefore making it extremely difficult to do your job and make loans to customers
have to work late at the end of the month
    no value on work/life balance
too many qualifiers to make monthly/quarterly bonuses
management acts like you belong to them
they do not value your time
    poor culture
    no holiday/end of year bonuses

    Advice to Management

You should start over and gut the existing management of the company b/c they have contributed to the poor culture that exists in the company. You need to place a higher value on the work that the employees in the branches b/c they are truly who make the company run. I worked at OneMain full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Although the pay is atrocious, I must say that the benefits aren't that bad. Although the tuition reimbursement was once @ $5K/year and has since dwindled to half that amount, some reimbursement is better than none.

    Cons

    Ridiculously low wages; Unethical business practices; Dangerously low office morale; Lackluster leadership on all levels of organization; Office Politics; Inconsistencies with enforcement of policies and procedures;

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Take time to listen to, evaluate, and work towards resolving legitimate issues and concerns presented by your employees. Fear-based management only works in China and Russia; it's actually counter-productive to whatever objectives you seek to accomplish, both short and long-term.
