    Pros

    1) There are some smart people with decent personalities working for this company (though the # of such people there are rapidly diminishing as you read this)
    2) They provide lunches on Fridays
    4) The jersey office has a nice view of manhattan

    Cons

    1) This is a consulting firm trying to become a big data solutions company - it is trying to develop products without hiring people who know how to manage the products. They plug consultants or programmers who do not have product managing experience to cobble together products. The result: they spend way too long building products that are not outstanding or groundbreaking in anyway, in many cases, they keep investing in failed attempts for far too long.

    2) There are not many people who truly want to mentor the younger people in the firm. A lot of the "mentors" are mentors more because it is a requirement of the job given their level of seniority.

    3) Environment is political, obvious practice of nepotism

    4) Management or those who communicate to the rest of the company on behalf of the management (i'm not clear who's in the "management" anymore these days) also make promises to employees that they cannot keep

    5) The company does not have enough cash to give out any year end bonuses or promote anyone in 2012

    6) The best people in the firm are leaving. Top execs that have been with the firm right from the beginning are also jumping ship -which is an indicator of how bright the growth potential of the firm is these days as these should be the very people who believe most in the company. They have been building the company for years, given stock options, and should be waiting to reap the benefits of seeds they sowed for the firm... but they have decided to give whatever "rewards" this firm can offer to them up

    7) I dont think the company has any values that are inspiring. It has a somewhat decent culture only because the little people that they hire at the bottom happen to be decent people who have a fairly good head on their shoulders and are willing to contribute to the community spirit of the company

    Pros

You get to experience a lot of different things, different companies and sides of companies most will never even read/hear about. Some of the people can be great to work with and be around. Pretty young company, be it since start up and as in the employees are young, so that is good. Lots of freedom and a lack of traditional business structure is a different plus.

    Cons

Tons of work and long hours. Prepare to work, a lot. People can be helpful most of the time, though there are moments or situations where you just need to fend for yourself and manage a lot. The jobs wears you down and you pay a price for it.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to make projects enjoyable to be on and focus on what is going on. Seems like more time/effort/money goes into the higher ups, marketing and unnecessary items than the people working the projects.
