I worked at Opus Bank full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Smaller environment, greater ability to make an impact

    Cons

Complete and total incompetence at the top puts the entire bank at risk. Many examples abound unfortunately. The former CFO might as well not have shown up to work; she simply got the title for knowing the people (or person, rather). This was a C-suite executive. Lenders/underwriting experts weren't up to snuff; massive credit losses in 2016. High turnover, at least among those who are smart and have options...

    Advice to Management

No advice for management, my advice is for the Board: you have a responsibility. Good work on replacing CEO and CFO. There is more to do.

    Opus Bank Response

    June 26, 2019EVP, CHRO

Dear former SVP, Thank you for your service to Opus Bank. Opus has been through a lot of change over the past 18 months, especially at the executive level. During that time, we have on-boarded a new CFO, CHRO, and CEO, and our new General Counsel started this week. It’s ...

I have been working at Opus Bank full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great people! I have been impressed with the people I have met here. Its also an exciting time to be at Opus Bank as performance has turned around based upon Q4 earnings release. Opus is currently looking for a new CEO which I think is also exciting. Medical benefits are great (UHC) and company subsidy is very good - much better then my last location. I love the location, building, and professional atmosphere....

    Cons

None so far. Some work spaces are trade desk style (i.e open) which may not appeal to all, but I have heard that is being looked at.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you have been doing. While I am new, I know my teammates are excited by the changes being made. Love the town halls that the interim CEO hosts.
