I worked at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility of work timings was the biggest pro of working at Oracle. The work was challenging too, but not always. Team members were of high caliber.

    Cons

There was no sharing of information by the management. Especially since I worked out of Bangalore, most decisions were made at HQ and conveyed to us without involving employees in the decision making process. Deadlines and projects were changed often, thus causing disappointment among employees. Employees were not appreciated for their efforts and bonuses were kept secret, thus encouraging a negative culture of secrecy. Work was very unevenly distributed. Changes in projects were not easy, making work very repetitive and boring.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people and not just resources. Give importance to what employees want to gain out of their jobs.
