I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Stable company, with well established processes. Has some very smart people. Benefits are decent, with great work life balance.

Cons

Hard to make an impact, being such a large company. Pay feels sub-par, especially if people stay a long time

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and training provided. Offers opportunity for career progression and unlimited salary potential. The Company adds to your resume a Fortune 500 Company which creates career opportunities both inside Oracle and in the industry. You are given autonomy in your territory which enables unlimited experience potential and ability to understand the process of running your own business.

    Cons

Some Sales territories have unreasonable quotas that are several times the historical revenue production. Limited contacts are given to new employees and account information is not immediately provided. Can take several months to accumulate contacts and identify deals.

    Advice to Management

Develop a more strategic account mapping strategy for new reps. Look at the new representative's contacts and experience rather than assigning accounts at random. Assign quotas that are attainable based on realistic growth over historical revenue production for each territory.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Recognizable Brand. Good place to start out, but not long term.

    Cons

Salaries don't change - wherever you come in at is where you'll be at 5 years later. High quota's, heavy quota overassignment means management isn't in the same boat as it's employees. Unfortunately, management looks for creative way not to pay reps (must sell x % of y! or accelerators don't kick in). Very high turnover

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your people
