Pros

Great benefits. It pays to work hard. If you work hard enough to be in the top 10-20% of your group or organization it is almost always rewarded with a decent bonus, stock options or merit increase. Oracle rarely has layoffs, unless of course your company was just purchased by them. I have never feared for my job.

Cons

Depending on the project, the extra hours can start to add up quickly. Some senior management only manage up and don't pay enough attention underneath them. The company has grown so much it can sometimes be complicated to work with other organizations.

Advice to Management

Hold meetings quarterly or bi-yearly with your entire organization. Executive Vice president Juergen Rottler does an excellent job with this, but some of his direct reports either don't do it at all or do it poorly.

    Pros

Flexibility. If you are developers then you can pretty much work from home since we could connect to office machine via VPN.

Meetings also can be attended via conference call.

The benefits such as medical and 401K are pretty good comparing to other big companies.

There are so many options for medical benefits so you could choose one that fits you. The vacation also pretty good since you do not have to report sick days =)

Working experience differ from groups. If you are in ST group then consider yourself lucky since you pretty much got all the perks.

    Cons

The downside is probably lack of promotions and raise. Promotions are very hard to get since there are so many to do list that need to be checked off, especially in ST.

Since the company is big, you may feel your contributions are not significant since you mostly work only in small part of the product. But thats to be expected from big company like Oracle.

    Advice to Management

Add more promotions and salary raise. This will definitely help to keep talented employees in the company.

    Pros

The only reason to work at oracle is to get expirence so that you can show in your resume. Once you have enough info to put in resume, it is not worth spending time working at oracle. They have a good top management and they know how to deal with the employee. Comapnies making huge profit but they do not share with employee.

    Cons

No crarrier growth, they do not treat employee well.

    Advice to Management

Give some value to employee apart from share holder.
