No opinion of CEO

Pros

- As a very profitable company, there's no worry about whether the company will go out of business.
- Work from home flexibility is allowed for most groups
- Lots of opportunities for business travel to all parts of the world

Cons

- Oracle is a company that makes its profits through lean operations (read: maximizing margins). That means, you as an employee get squeezed too
- Very little work/life balance
- You're not thought to think - you're merely supposed to do.
- As a result of bureaucratic processes, you become more of a process manager instead of a product manager. Those of us from Sun that made it into Oracle, soon found that out the hard way

Advice to Management

You are doing a great job of maximizing shareholder value but a horrible job of keeping up employee morale. You can afford to do that now but when the cloud really takes off, you will be left far behind in the dust, especially given the long product release cycles

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Large company with lots of benefits and a decent salary. Had some good travel experiences and worked with a lot of talented people.

    Cons

Management is horrible, work long long hours, no respect and limited ability for growth. You will not receive any recognition for extra work.

    Advice to Management

You need to start treating your employees with respect and providing a guidance for a career path within the company.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Benefits are excellent, leader in the hardware and software industry, solid financials, deep pockets to invest in R&D, fearless CEO.

    Cons

Incompetence of some senior development leadership (lack of ability to effectively build and run an organization), bullying and mean middle management, highly political/toxic environment, complexities and inefficiencies sustained by big Oracle machine make us difficult to do business with if you don't know how to navigate, is an old company run by old men/women.
