Pros

Get to see many rockets go through the complete lifecycle from design to launch, A machine shop is at your disposal

Cons

Orbital management at NSROC believes that the job is everyone's top priority, Work life balance is not considered, Management criticize each other behind each other's backs, Worst review and raise of my career, I'm learning how to not manage an organization but would rather be learning how to manage an organization, I have 0 respect for NSROC management, Overtime is the solution for every schedule constraint

Advice to Management

Realize that the work force will work most efficiently when they're working 40 hrs. per week. Overtime is a short term solution not a long term fix. Don't criticize each other in front of the work force.

    - Management encourages an atmosphere of positive working relationships.
    - High level of responsibility given during early stages in career.
    - Small company = more exposure at all levels. This can be both good and bad.
    - The nature of the business (putting things in space) means that the work can be pretty interesting.

    Cons

    - Relatively small company in a turbulent industry means that the highs and lows will be felt.
    - Workload is not adequately monitored and managed by supervisors.
    - Poor configuration management system, however some improvements have been made recently.
    - Can sometimes be left to tackle a problem individually creating high personal stress.

    Advice to Management

    - Improve career development efforts for engineers. They have gone very far down hill.
    - Improve mentoring for engineers (at all levels, not just entry). It is almost non-existent.

    Pros

    If you want to blend in, put in your work day and leave with a paycheck this is a great place to work. Lots of intelligent people to work with. An excellent place to start a career, within the industry Orbital has good resume recognition.

    Cons

    Poor management keeps company from really shining. Programs suffer greatly due to negligent and wasteful management structure.

    Advice to Management

    Reduce labor squabbling between departments.
