I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Compensation is reasonable even though for people back in the home country is much lower than the overseas counterparts despite the fact the most of the heavy lifting in terms of product, delivery and backoffice is still in Portugal. This creates some distrust among peers. - There's a stock options plan that for everyone but unfortunately unless you're a manager you can forget anything substantial. - Despite some...

This used to be a great company and a great place to work. The kind of place where you would feel joy to wake up and come to work. Now I can only say that it's nothing like it was and the joy it's not the same. It's a growing company with a fast pace but some of it seems artificial. 30% to 50% of the workforce joined in the past year in what it seems to be an attempt to inflate evaluation. Strategy change almost...

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to stop trying to inflate evaluation at all costs at the risk of loosing what made the company special. The market is fast paced and obviously we need to adapt but slow down on the rate of strategy change and try to keep the organization a bit more stable so people can actually complete the work they are assigned without leaving the pieces for the next ones to catch.

    Pros

Haven't had a job I enjoyed this much in a very long time. OutSystems has a tremendous product, effective leadership, and smart people all around driven to make a difference.

    Cons

Not enough time to do all the things I want to do.

    Advice to Management

Keep asking how we can improve.

I worked at OutSystems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I really enjoyed my colleagues and they have great benefits

    Cons

I joined because the culture endorsed outspoken professionals. They encouraged people to ask 'Why' but yet when you do so, they overrule it. Management sees their way and nobody else's. I quickly realized I was an executor vs. a strategist when my boss told me what to do on a regular basis. She clearly wanted no other opinions and for her team to do things her way. In addition she stated she had the management team 'wrapped...

    Advice to Management

Don't think your ideas are the be all, end all. Acknowledge the skills of your employees - you hired them after-all. And if you want to recruit a team of people who challenge the status quo and ask why, it will never work if you don't take action or even acknowledge their 'why' is valid.
