I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Even though there is a continuous loss year by year of the initial culture, there is still some remaining people that strive to keep it alive. Fast paced, learning culture, ask why... having direct go to management (captains) is something working well and should be kept. Great product and great market opportunity! Being part of something that can become really big!

    Cons

Compensation (at least in PT) is basically rubbish... salary grid bands are kept updated with market data, but it is only marketing, because each band is divided in 3 (Less experienced and skilled, mid point, More experienced and skilled) and the large majority of people is in the left side of the bands, meaning that ultimately OutSystems employees are unskilled and inexperienced!!! It doesn’t make sense whatsoever...

    Advice to Management

Don’t pay with peanuts because eventually you will only get monkeys!!!

Thank you for sharing your concerns and sorry to hear that our shared salary bands in Portugal are meaningless to you. The goal was exactly the opposite! We want to be transparent and to explain the "why" behind salary decisions. OutSystems offers much more than the compensation ...

I have been working at OutSystems full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Haven't had a job I enjoyed this much in a very long time. OutSystems has a tremendous product, effective leadership, and smart people all around driven to make a difference.

    Cons

Not enough time to do all the things I want to do.

    Advice to Management

Keep asking how we can improve.

I worked at OutSystems full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I really enjoyed my colleagues and they have great benefits

    Cons

I joined because the culture endorsed outspoken professionals. They encouraged people to ask 'Why' but yet when you do so, they overrule it. Management sees their way and nobody else's. I quickly realized I was an executor vs. a strategist when my boss told me what to do on a regular basis. She clearly wanted no other opinions and for her team to do things her way. In addition she stated she had the management team 'wrapped...

    Advice to Management

Don't think your ideas are the be all, end all. Acknowledge the skills of your employees - you hired them after-all. And if you want to recruit a team of people who challenge the status quo and ask why, it will never work if you don't take action or even acknowledge their 'why' is valid.
