    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Oxfam's very much on a par with the other major aid agencies as a place to work. There are a wealth of international postings for those with the opportunities to take them. The atmosphere is consistently warm and friendly.

    Cons

The opportunities for career progression are limited for those without a huge amount of pre-existing experience. There is too much bureaucracy, excessive meetings and not as much dynamism as one sees in the private sector.

    Advice to Management

Review how appointments are made to increase the value of skill/abilities relative to levels of experience. Cut back on spending that does not have a direct value to the programme.

    Pros

Intermon Oxfam is an NGO located in Barcelona and with missions world wide. The best thing to work in Intermon is that its action tackles all different aid sectors: Developement, Emergencies, fair trade, advocacy and local activities.

    Cons

working in the field might be really taugh depending in the country of the mission. However, working in the HQ in Barcelona is an amazing experience with a very good atmosphere among the collegues and enjoying the city.

    Advice to Management

Speak several languages (Spanish and English are the working languages) and very good communication skills. Ability to think on your own feet and having strong values towards the relief sector.
