Fair line to middle management, solid on-the-job training, interesting projects, global reach, blue chip clients, good team climate, adequate compensation

Cons

Top management and Sales agree on unachievable contract terms, bad resource planning leads to staff burn-out, outdated technology, too little investment in toolchain development, too sparse performance evaluation, strategic partnership put too much strain

Advice to Management

Involve functional and team leads in bid defense and contract negotiation, plan resourcing in advance, invest in technology in-house and outsourcing.

    Pros

    Great people at numerous levels in the company. Most folks accessible to answer questions in virtually every operational department; which was good.

    Cons

    Long hours, tight deadlines, favoritism, no line management support, inexperienced line managers, lacking support from senior management with respect to tight deadlines and long hours. Job demanded working into the night and almost every weekend.

    Advice to Management

    Do something about the perception that exists that Parexel does not care about the sacrifice their employees are making by having to work upwards of 60 hrs/week on a regular basis.

    flexible working hours which most CROs have

    Cons

    sparse communication that tends to be one-way
    standards for performance evaluation, salary increase and promotion not often objective
    poor resource management leading to quick burnout of employees
    workload does not allow any personal time for life
    no overtime pay but workload forces employees to work even on weekends

    Advice to Management

    management should listen to employees' feedback AND implement ideas
    provide clearer standards for reward and how work is assigned
    manage resource more efficiently
