I have been working at PBS full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

PBS is a company that you can be proud to work for. Great benefits.

Cons

Department heads do not value their employees at all or give recognition. Many valuable resources have left and morale is extremely low. Slim possibilities of career advancements. Absolutely no communication between internal departments due to internal conflicts from management which creates a horrible work environment and negatively affects everyone's job performance .

Advice to Management

Get it together. Learn about your team and don't just try to be buddy buddy with the higher ups because your employees are the ones working hard, putting in those extra hours, being innovative and making you look good.

Respect in the marketplace - people love PBS
Some of the most talented and dedicated co-workers
    Fun perks
    Good location
    Excellent benefits and work/life balance
Great location in evolving Crystal City

    Cons

    Top-heavy
    Inefficient
    Inside politics
    Lack of advancement opportunities

    Advice to Management

Restructure to trim the top level fat across the entire organization and stop building silos. Don't punish and lay-off the the rank & file who actually do the work and truly believe in the brand. Reward employees who have worked hard and deserve advancement rather than shuffling in more directors and VPs who couldn't care less about what PBS is all about.

    Pros

To make the world better. To make the world better. To make the world better. To make the world better. Educate, inform, and inspire!

    Cons

It was very stressful and demanding. You have to prioritize your time very well. Show up early and leave late.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes I witnessed a bit too much of micro-managing. I think that produces excellence, but perhaps a bit too much of it still.
