    -friendly staff
    -nice on resume
    -learn how to pull soundbites and write VOCCs
    -independent work
    -can set your own hours/flexible
    -great about writing recommendations

    Cons

    -no room for advancement or hire afterward
    -older employee culture (most are 40+ yrs old)
    -work can get monotonous and repetitive
    -environment not very engaging
    -lots of layoffs

    Advice to Management

    Hire some young faces!
    Remodel your offices!

    Pros

    I love the mission of PBS. Vacation time is decent and flexible schedules are possible. They do not micro-manage for the most part.

    Cons

    I find it ironic that their slogan is "Be More" because I have been discouraged from working outside of my narrowly defined job description. I have had very few opportunities to grow my skills and knowledge while at PBS. I often have taken initiative to go above and beyond yet my contributions have rarely if ever been recognized.

    Advice to Management

    Get to know your employees, not just your department heads. Recognize their contributions and support their professional growth actively. Employees with great passion for the field have left, not because salaries are generally lower but because they do not feel valued and do not feel that their opinions are respected.
