Pros

Very flexible for work/life. I am able to work on a schedule that works for me, and the time off is generous. Unfortunately, for anyone looking to get in, the time off policy has changed, and for those not grandfathered in, it's not so rosy.

Cons

PECI upper management has a hard time seeing the larger movements in the marketplace. It caused them to over leverage during an industry-wide growth a few years ago, and had to lay off a lot of people and cut benefits for those remaining earlier in 2012. Unfortunately, this also left them fairly noncompetitive from a compensation and benefits standpoint. The senior management is so disconnected from what's happening on the ground, even when you have an opportunity to speak plainly with one of them, the message does not get through because there is no common experience on which to relate. This disconnect leads to a lot of business problems, like missed opportunities, but on a more personal level, creates stress and problems on the ground level that are completely unnecessary. I feel that the organization is deeply troubled, and after several years of turbulence, the signs are not yet pointing toward improvements. The organization shows a lot of symptoms of inexperience, the least of which is that it has not learned yet how to hire and fire effectively. Team members who are actually damaging the company are kept on for far too long.

Pros

The people I get to work with on a daily basis. Having joined the company within the last year and knowing what changes had taken place a couple of years ago, I was pleasantly surprised to find a very welcoming culture, very open, and with a great work/life balance. I know that is team/role dependent, but the work/life balance and opportunities to improve the PECI culture have been great. Smart people, doing good work, wanting to make a difference. There seems to have been a lot of improvement made to morale - competitions, events, chances to showcase your creativity (thanks to PECI's L&D team that created an Art Gallery for everyone to choose to display their creative work) and there's a positive outlook on the company moving forward. Having been in a previous role that lacked any respect from upper management, it has been a nice change to feel welcomed by the executive team. While everyone works hard, there is more laughter in the hallways than there has been in a long time. The culture is on the upswing and I hope more people can see that.

Cons

It might be because I'm still fairly new, but I'm not sure I can think of any cons right now. I have heard and read other reviews about the company, but so far I have experienced only positive things at my time at PECI.
