    I worked at PETA full-time

    Pros

    I don’t know ... Vegan potlucks sometimes?

    Cons

As someone else mentioned — this was the worst environment I have ever worked in or could imagine working in. HR is a nightmare. Co-workers spy on you at work and in town, at the park, near your house — and then report you to HR. One friend was reported to HR because someone thought her dog’s nails were too long. I got reported to HR because someone saw me at a park with my dog off-leash. The department heads can be absolutely...

This was hard to read, and we wish you had a more favorable experience working at PETA and with the members of the HR team. We don’t recall the incident you mention outside of office hours, but as employees of the world’s largest animal rights organization, we are all ambassadors ...

I have been working at PETA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This is by far the most rewarding job I have ever had. Yes, the hours can be long and the pay is less than you would make in a corporate setting. However, those things are common with non-profit work. I get paid to help animals and save lives. It really doesn’t get much better than that. But PETA has found ways to make it even better. Here’s how: They promote from within. If you work hard, your managers will notice....

None. Best job I’ve ever had!

I worked at PETA part-time for more than a year

    Pros

PETA encourages growth from within, lots of full-time and high-ranked employees started as interns or campus reps. It's a very encouraging environment in that way, lots of people will really grow in the company, and supervisors are generally very accessible and hands-on. Everyone is very passionate about animal rights and in the time I spent at the organization, I was continually impressed by everything they do for animals....

    Cons

Low pay (though that's often common for non-profits)
