Pros

The Pay is about it at this point.

Cons

Cliques galore. If you're not in with the "in crowd," you get the worst assignments, you get called out for inconsequential infractions with regularity. It feels like the mgmt team is simply keeping a log of potential items to use when they think it's time to replace a more senior professional with a lower-paid grad student. It's all about opportunity cost I suppose.

Advice to Management

Find a way to eliminate the favoritism and cliques within the workplace. Otherwise, would be an even better place to work.

I worked at PIH Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be a wonderful place to work. Was there for a couple decades. Loyal staff who are friendly, caring and dedicated to what the mission was supposed to be "patients first".

    Cons

Things changed dramatically about 5 years ago. Loyal and long term staff have been laid off...not a few, many. Cheaper to higher new grads. The CEO came in years ago as a bright light, filled with energy and dedication to the community..that has taken a back seat. If you want to work for a true non profit/community based hospital, this is no longer that place. If you want to work for a "for profit" model and are new to healthcare, this would be your place to start.

    Advice to Management

Go back to being the community serving IDS you promised to be. Dont "spin Dr" why you are pulling out of the community and changing the focus. Admit that the "monies" you are handing out pale in comparison to actually caring hands on for the community you serve. Pay attention to the long term loyal staff who are "jumping ship". Make homes for the ones who choose to stay. REMEMBER what our hospital...Presbyterian...stood for and go back to the mission. Do the right things because they are the right things to do
