Pros

Fantastic products, great technical support.

Cons

Very disorganized. Bureaucracy brings this company to a total standstill for any decisions. Not globally minded. Most employees over 40 yrs old...

    Pros

The company offers several divisions and each division has a different set of needs and treatment/culture. If one area doesn't work for you, then you can always try transferring to a new division.
The employees are generally great. (Good colleagues)

    Cons

    * Benefits are average at best.
*Pay is meager based on comparisons and past experience; no negotiations allowed on jobs that are at a more general level, such as Customer Service positions.
    * Very conservative culture, frugal and antiquated equipment.
    * Little to no value for employee well-being; no onsite health or fitness classes, no cafeterias or food options.
    * Very divisive between departments and no control from HR standpoint; if your boss or supervisor doesn't like you, you will get put on some sort of plan to improve, and that is basically the first step to your firing. Beware if you are put on a personal plan; start looking for new opportunities.
    * If sales are suffering in your division, be aware that they will be doing everything possible to support them and not necessarily support decisions made internally...just be aware that if you want to be given good reviews, you should be 200% tuned into what management is looking to support. Sounds logical, but this is hard because you don't always know what is on their radar.
    * Very little room to advance unless you are specialized. (engineer, MBA holder, etc)
    * If traveling is difficult for you, ask to be sure your position will not require it.
    * The values of PPG are questionable and not in line with the caliber of typical Fortune-ranked companies. There is no support for employees in terms of helping them feel accepted or welcomed; if there is, it's due to the fortune of having a very nice supervisor (rare).
