Pros

PPL paid above average wages and great benfits.

Cons

PPL, in recent years, seemed to regrad its employees as throw-aways. Management seldom provided feedback for jobs well-done. Rather they focued on the negative. New managers from outside the company did not know the culture of the current employees, and failed to care about the years of serivce of the employees of them legacy companies.

Advice to Management

Keep focusing on generation and wholesalre markets. Electric Utilties is nothing more than an annoyance in ttoday's marketplace. Please listed to what emplyees have to say and allow them to have an opinion.

I worked at PPL as an intern

    Pros

As an intern, they give you a lot of meaningful work and autonomy.
You can always ask for more work if you don't think you are busy enough.
Lots of opportunities to network, even beyond your department.
There are intern meetings and events such as community service.

    Cons

Sometimes you find yourself doing hardly anything or want more work but it's limited.

    Advice to Management

Keeping giving meaningful work to interns and continue with the networking events.

    Pros

Experience for your next position elsewhere.
    Steady pay check.
Experience constantly adapting to a change.

    Cons

5 different bosses in less than 2 years
Poor pay relative to position requirements
Poor HR. Job titles squashed to reduce compensation.... Managers really are directors, supervisors are really managers.
Company has no long term, direction and vacillates between strategies.
People running groups or organizations have no experience with those groups and organizations

    Advice to Management

    Replace your HR group
    Value your employees
Either provide services for your customers or cut costs. The two are mutually exclusive. Don't expect to.provide good customer service if you aren't paying appropriately to provide it.
Put suitable employees in roles they are experienced at and don't just "find a spot" for them.
