I worked at PPL as an intern (More than a year)

Pros

Pay, relaxed environment, nice facility,

Cons

Didn't learn a whole lot as an intern. Not very up to date on new systems, was not given very much responsibility

I worked at PPL as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

PPL is expanding their career opportunities due to a retiring workforce. The company is very stable, offering a lot of job security. Benefits are good. Everyone is friendly. There is a lot of flexibility for lateral and vertical job changes within the company.

    Cons

Not the place to be if you're looking to work on cutting edge projects as an engineer. There is a lot of following of procedure, and not much original design work.

I have been working at PPL full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent job security, great benefits, large company with room for both vertical and lateral moves, effort is rewarded

    Cons

Like all large companies, they are conservative and can tend to be process-bound

    Advice to Management

Try your best to identify areas where we can simplify and speed up workflows. Endeavor to increase rewards for effort and not just longevity. Continue your policy of encouraging personal and workplace safety.
